Erratic driving again leads to an illegal drug being found in an individual’s vehicle.
Late Sunday night, around 11:30, Independence County Chief Deputy Sheriff Aaron Moody.
Observed a vehicle crossing the centerline while traveling north in front of the Batesville Regional Airport.
Moody pulled the vehicle over and found the driver to be Jerry Deen Harrell Jr.(pictured), 52, of Bald Knob.
Harrell told Chief Moody he had been looking for his girlfriend and was headed to Heber Springs.
Moody noticed that Harrell was also moving items of clothing that were located on the passenger’s side floorboard when reaching for his vehicle documents.
Moody gained permission to search the vehicle and found on the passenger’s side a packet of what tested positive as methamphetamine and a glass smoking device with burnt residue in the bulb.
Harrell was taken into custody and his vehicle towed.
He is facing the prospect of two felony charges being filed; possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
