On Tuesday, June 9, Independence County Sheriff Shawn Stephens responded to a structure fire at the end of Rich Hollow Road.
Upon arriving at the fire, Stephens met the owner of the building. The man said he and his wife had been out of town for a few days and just arrived back to the property. The owner said the structure fire was noticed by his wife just after 9 p.m.
The sheriff said the estimated value of the structure that was lost to the fire is around $100,000. He also noted that the site will be investigated, and samples would be taken from inside the structure.
