Sharp county reports second Spring River drowning of the year over the holiday

Areawide Media reports via Facebook that another drowning occurred on the Spring River on Independence Day.

Sharp County Coroner Renee Clay-Circle confirmed on her personal social media account that the body of Jermie John White, 49, of Jonesboro was recovered just before 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

The drowning reportedly occurred on Saturday below River Bend Park in Hardy at a small fall above VFalls.
The recovery of the deceased was a combined effort of the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission, Sharp County Sheriff’s Office, and Hardy Fire Departement Water Rescue.
