Vera Johnston, 86 of Floral died Tuesday, June 30, 2020. She was born May 6, 1934, in Banner to O.J. and Iris Reed. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J.C. Johnston; six brothers, Donald, Garland, Roland, Dale, Johnny and Connie Reed and two sisters, Dorothy Sapp and Oklan Shelton.
Survivors include three sons, Bruce Johnston of Little Rock, Dennis Johnston (Karen) of Cave City and Velton Johnston of Anchorage, Alaska; one daughter, Melissa Cooper (Paul) of Melbourne; one sister, Deanie Heidelberg of Providence; six grandchildren, Jay Johnston, Chris Stewart, Dusty Cooper, Tyler Cooper, Avu Johnston and Caleb Johnston; eight great-grandchildren, Gus Cooper, Cash Cooper, Jamie Johnston, Addie Cooper, Heidi Cooper, Michael Stewart, Cam Cooper and Conner Johnston; several nieces and nephews a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Monday, July 6, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at the Floral Baptist Church with Velton Johnston officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery at Floral. Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Gay, Eric Reed, Dusty Cooper, Tyler Cooper, Gus Cooper and Cash Cooper.
Arkansas Department of Health Covid-19 guidelines will be observed.
