news-siren-79

A Mountain View man was killed Tuesday night when his motorcycle apparently hit an armadillo, according to a release from the Stone County Sheriff’s Office. Both the driver, identified as Ronald Sikorski, 29, and his passenger were thrown from the motorcycle.

Emergency personnel and medics were unsuccessful in reviving Sikorski, and he was pronounced deceased at the Stone County Medical Center, the release said. The passenger was injured and transported to the Stone County Medical Center by private vehicle.

When deputies arrived at the scene on Misenheimer Road, near Jimmy Mitchell Road, they learned Sikorski and his passenger were traveling eastbound on Misenheimer Road when the motorcycle struck the armadillo, throwing the two from the cycle.

No other information is being released at this time. The accident is being worked by the Stone County Sheriff’s Department.
