Obituary: Stanley (Butch) Richard Bower, Jr.

Stanley (Butch) Richard Bower, Jr., 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17, 2020, surrounded by loved ones.  He was born November 17, 1937, in Detroit, Mich. to Stanley Bower Sr. and Mildred Burgess Bower and moved to Arkansas in 1945.  Butch joined the United States Air Force after high school in 1955 and served for four years.  After his service in the Air Force, he settled and spent the rest of his life in Batesville.  He married the love of his life Carolyn in December 1982.  He worked at ConAgra Foods for several years and retired in 1999.

Butch was a devoted Christian and a member of the Concord Missionary Baptist Church.  He was a hard-working man that loved and worked hard for his family.  He enjoyed going to church and completely adored his church family.  In his younger years, he loved fishing and hunting.  He kept a beautiful large garden.  He had a passion for all things food.  He loved mowing his yard, his dog, Henrietta and his porch swing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Carolyn Bower.

Survivors include three daughters, Millie (Danny) Knatcal of Marionville, Mo., Bobbi (Shannon) Boozer of Concord and Cyndi Brazil of Rogers; one sister, Diana  (Steve) Hooten; nine grandchildren, Daniel Knatcal, Whitney (Thomas) Street, Chance (Ashley) Tucker, Dakota Tucker, Eli Boozer, Colton Boozer, Mallory Capps, Sidney Archuleta, Shelby (Katie) Anderson; five great-grandchildren, Connor Knatcal, Easton Street, Zoey Archuleta, Felix Anderson and Gracie Boozer; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Thursday, July 23, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at the Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Concord with Bro. Chris Garrett officiating.  Burial will follow in the Kyler Cemetery in Southside with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 22, 2020, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Knatcal, Conner Knatcal, Dakota Tucker, Chance Tucker, Eli Boozer and Colton Boozer.
