Obituary: Jerry Lynn Floyd

On July 29, 2020, Jerry Lynn Floyd, 78, went to sleep in Jesus. He was born on January 16, 1942, in Batesville. Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose memory will forever be cherished by his loved ones.

Jerry served as head pastor at Seventh-Day Worship Center in Concord. He loved animals and was an avid gardener. He also enjoyed taking day trips and spending time with his family, whom he loved very much. His family extended beyond relation; if he knew you, you were family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Buck and Mary Floyd Hunter; adopted parents, Ray Dene and Waldene Floyd; and brothers, Donald Floyd and Denver Hunter. He is survived by his wife, Zee Eddings Floyd; daughter, Melanie Ferrantelle (Louis); adopted daughter, Mirranda Eddings Sprayberry; sister, Sharon Candler; brothers, Larry Bishop and Max Bishop; half-brothers, Benny Hunter, Andy Hunter, James Hunter, and Alan Hunter; half-sisters, Dodie Boyett and Starla Lancaster; adopted sister, Beverly Reed; grandchildren, Ashlyn Hall (JT) and Austin Ferrantelle; as well as church family, neighbors, and friends.

A graveside service, officiated by Matt Dooley, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2020, at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Concord.
