Obituary: Jerry Wayne Addington

Jerry Wayne Addington of Amagon departed this life on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at the age of 73. He was born September 26, 1946, in Amagon, the son of Eugene Joe and Nona (Honey) Addington.

He was a self-employed farmer and truck driver, and a member of the Midway Church of Christ. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed deer hunting, and fishing. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends and playing with his great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Willie Joe Addington; two sisters, Dorothy Mae Tirey and Joyce Newby; and his parents.

He is survived by one son, Phillip Addington and wife, Erica, of Pennington; one daughter, Jerri Sue Burgess and husband, Jerry, of Pennington; one brother, Leroy Addington and wife, Betty, of Newport; two sisters, Linda Eskew and husband, Jimmy, of Amagon, and Betty Collins of Amagon; two grandchildren, Hali Bradshaw and husband, Josh, and Hanna Longino and husband, Josh; two great-grandchildren, Chloe and Casen Howard; and his special friend, Sue Addington.

Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at Memory Garden Cemetery at Johnstown with Mr. Llano Robinson and Mr. David Howard officiating.

We are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines and limiting indoor funeral and visitation attendance while observing social distancing guidelines. All attendees must provide and wear masks upon entering and while in the building, and at the cemetery.
