Obituary: Edna (Walls) Robinson

Edna (Walls) Robinson of Newport departed this life on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at the age of 84. She was born January 28, 1936, in Fulton County the daughter of Charlie and Chloe (Tadlock) Walls.
She was a homemaker and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Newport. There she taught Sunday school and worked alongside her husband, Rev. John Robinson. She loved going with John to pastor’s retreats, and on their various road trips. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Rev. John Elwood Robinson; two brothers, Charles and Roy Walls; two sisters, Melba Jackson and Della Faye Everett; and her parents.
She is survived by two sons, John Robinson and wife, Cathy, of Little Rock, and Anthony Robinson and wife, Teresa, of Campbell Station; one daughter, Christine Goodman of Newport; one brother, Glennis Walls of Newport; six grandchildren, Tony Roberson of Newport, James Roberson of Batesville, Matthew Willis and wife, Ginger, of Newport, Keith Dewitt of Newport, Eric Robinson and wife, Kelli, of Morrilton, and John Jansen Robinson and wife, Brittney, of Jonesboro; many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Friends may visit at the funeral home, Friday, August 7, 2020, beginning at 1:30 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel, with interment in Watson Cemetery.
