White River Health System (WRHS) recently donated supplies to the Humane Society of Independence County (HSIC) to help care for animals.  The local non-profit rescues stray and injured cats and dogs, provides temporary care of homeless animals, and facilitates adoption of homeless animals to permanent homes. They also recruit families to foster animals when there is no room at the local shelter. HSIC encourages spaying/neutering to reduce the population of unwanted pets through education and awareness.
