White River Health System (WRHS) recently announced the addition of two General Surgeons: Luke Edgecombe, MD, (pictured, right) and Olga Zhadan, MD (pictured, left). Dr. Zhadan began her practice on August 6, while Dr. Edgecombe will start his practice in mid-September. Drs. Edgecombe and Zhadan join General Surgeons Drs. Philip Pack and David Yarnell at the WRMC Surgery Clinic, located at 501 Virginia Drive in Batesville.
General Surgeons are physicians who operate to repair injuries, correct deformities, prevent diseases, and generally improve the health of patients. They examine patients to determine if surgery is necessary and select the appropriate surgical procedure.
Dr. Edgecombe received his Doctorate of Medicine from the American University of the Caribbean. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Tampa. He completed a five year General Surgery Residency at the Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, New York.
Dr. Zhadan completed the Master of Science Program at the Dnipropetrovsk Medical Academy of Health Ministry of Ukraine. She obtained her Medical Degree from Dnipropetrovsk State Medical Academy where she graduated first in a class of 161 students. She completed residencies at Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine, St. Barnabas Medical Center, Abington Memorial Hospital, and Dnipropetrovsk State Medical Academy.
