Arwanda Hill departed this life on Monday, August 10, 2020, at the age of 82. She was born November 7, 1937, the daughter of Claud and Dollie (Watson) Benson.
She was a member of the Swifton Church of Christ.
Arwanda worked for Southwestern Bell, later AT&T, for forty years. She began her career as an operator in Newport. The job later moved her to Jonesboro, and then Little Rock, before she retired in 1999. She made many dear friends during her career.
During her retirement, Arwanda reconnected with friends from both Swifton and Newport. She enjoyed spending time with family (especially great-grandson, Quinton), and friends. She was active in church and enjoyed working in her yard.
She is survived by her daughter, Jamie (Rod) Carmack of Jonesboro; one brother, Jack Benson of Jonesboro; sisters, Aretta Goodman of Batesville, Janet (Nick) Hill of Dallas, Texas, and Judy (Robert) Page of Auvergne; grandson, Drew Carmack of Jonesboro; granddaughter, Tori Carmack of Jonesboro; great-grandson, Quinton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit at the funeral home, Wednesday, August 12, 2020, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Graveside services are 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 13, 2020, at Swifton Cemetery.
The family would like to say a special thank you to her caregiver, Latarcha Carter, St. Bernard’s Home Health, as well as Cassandra Stroman and Trevor Moody, and St. Bernard’s Home Hospice.
