Two-vehicle collision south of Cave City leaves one dead, two injured Tuesday

The Arkansas State Police have released details on a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 167 at Wilderness Drive near Pfeiffer that left one Batesville man dead and two others injured Tuesday afternoon.

State Police Cpl. Brandon Trewyn’s report says a 2018 GMC Sierra, driven by Skyler Spivey, 29, was heading south on U.S. Highway 167 when it crossed the centerline and traveled into the northbound lane before making impact with a northbound 2017 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Michael French, 52, of Hardy.

The report says the Silverado came to a final rest on the northbound shoulder of Highway 167 while the Sierra came to rest in the turning lane of the highway.

A passenger in the Sierra, Jason A. Duggan, 48, of Batesville, was killed in the accident while French and Spivey received injuries requiring hospitalization.

Trewyn reported the road conditions were rainy and wet at the time of the accident.
