Izard County Sheriff Department deputies were called to Horseshoe Bend Wednesday afternoon where Chief Deputy Sheriff Charley Melton said a body was found lying in the power line right-of-way near the sewer treatment plant off North Bend Drive.
Deputies said the body of a male appeared to have been deceased for several days. It was sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for identification and cause of death.
Chief Melton said the case is an open investigation, however, initial indications are that foul play was not involved.
