Laverne N. Crum, 81, of Newport departed this life Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at her home. She was born November 2, 1938, to Earl and Pauline (Dunn) Hohn. She was a member of the Church of God. She enjoyed cleaning house, loved to play Scrabble, cheat on UNO game, loved painting, going on cruises and faithfully reading her Bible.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one great-grandson; Logan Steele Hopkins.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years; Mitchell L. Crum of the home, son; Steven Clark (Debbie) of Newport, daughter; Dana Hopkins (James) of Newport, God Children; Tracy Ball of Newport and Greg Bostian (Deena) of Heber Springs, sister; Brenda Lassiter (Larry) of Austin, half-sister; Naomi Hutchinson (Mike) of Arizona, five grandchildren; Aaron Hopkins (Lesley) of Berryville, Dustin Clark (Bree) of Pheiffer, Zach Hopkins (Maddie) of Newport, Savannah Honey (Will) of Tuckerman, and Sierra Mouser (Will) of Jonesboro, twelve great-grandchildren, and special nieces; Annette Ku (Jimmy) and Penny Ellison.
