Obituary: Ronald Joseph Beckmann

Ronald Joseph Beckmann, 74, of Batesville, passed away Monday, August 17, 2020. He was born in Jefferson City, Missouri to Anthony Beckmann and Cyrilda (Scholten) Beckmann.

He was a graduate of Batesville high school where he played football for the Pioneers. He attended Arkansas State University. Ron retired as an Engineer from White Rodgers and was a retired hero from the Gulf War with the 142nd unit of the Arkansas Army National Guard.

Ron loved his family. In his retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, taking trips together and enjoying life. He took pleasure in simple things like feeding his hummingbirds and starting his next project. He was proud of being a father and grandfather. Ron left a wonderful legacy on this Earth.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert Beckmann; and one sister, Shirley King.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Linda (Dickey) Beckmann of the home; three children; daughter, Christie Westmann (Courtney) of Anchorage, Alaska; son, Scott Beckmann of Baltimore, Maryland, and daughter Amber Muehlbach (Doon) of Springdale, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Lilly Beckmann, Ella Beckmann, Asher Westmann, and Avery Westmann; one sister, Mary Jo Lacefield of St. Charles, Missouri; one brother-in-law Dr. Dwaine Dickey of Rogers, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends.

Due to COVID-19, services will be delayed until a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Independence County Humane Society 5 Environmental Dr. Batesville, AR. 72501.
