Search continues for missing Jackson County woman

According to a social media post from the Jackson County Office of Emergency Management, Sydney Claire Sutherland, 25, was last seen around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, jogging in the area of State Highway 18 between Newport and Grubbs.

Authorities from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department along with volunteers have been searching the area, and it was reported by Jonesboro television station KAIT that search dogs from the Arkansas Department of Corrections and a helicopter from the Arkansas State Police were going to be used in the search.

The station also noted that authorities say Sutherland’s vehicle and personal items were left at her home. (Click here for the KAIT story.)

Sutherland is 5 foot, 3 inches and 103 pounds and has blonde hair and brown eyes.

Officials are planning an 11 a.m. news conference on Thursday.
