A Stone County man is in jail awaiting his circuit court trial after being charged with felony aggravated assault on a household member.
Stone County Circuit Court records say Justin L Willett, 23, struck the victim in the head with a board and threw a hammer at them, striking the victim in the side. Willett is also accused of choking the victim during the Aug. 15 incident, according to the court information.
According to officials, when deputies met with the victim, they found injuries to the victim’s head, face, and legs, as well as a large cut on their right kneecap.
The report says there were also bruises on both sides of the victim’s face from being hit with the board and from Willett’s hands. The victim also had a large bump on their head.
Sheriff Lance Bonds, Chief Deputy Dammon McGilton, and Sgt. Rick Crome went to the Stone County residence and arrested Willett, court docs say.
The documents also note Willett is on parole with an active search waiver on file.
According to the court information, officers searched the residence and located blood droplets on the floor along with a board. According to the officers, there was hair stuck to the board, as well as blood splatter on the wall.
Willett (pictured below) is currently in the Stone County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
