The Batesville Area Arts Council is presenting Kindred, an exhibition by Adrienne Callander, at the BAAC Gallery on Main, 226 E. Main St., through Oct. 3, 2020.

Kindred is an interactive exhibition featuring one of Callander’s new projects, #littlesweaterhug, the artist’s socially engaged knit-based response to limited physical contact in the early days of COVID-19.

“In April of this year, as a lack of physical contact due to the COVID-19 shutdown started taking its toll, I asked rather whimsically if anyone could use a #littlesweaterhug,” said Callander. “I was surprised by the number of requests.”

To date, #littlesweaterhugs have traveled to San Francisco; Boulder, Col.; Harlem, N.Y.; Louisville, Ky.; Starkville, Miss.; Tuscaloosa, Ala.; and throughout northwest Arkansas.

This exhibition is sponsored by First Community Bank. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m to 2 p.m.
