Dohnny Jarrell Holley, 45, of Rosie, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on September 1, 2020. Dohnny was born in Batesville on July 14, 1975, to Betty June Butler Holley and James Edward Holley and was of the Baptist faith. Dohnny was known to many as “Taz;” the nickname came from his favorite cartoon character, the Tasmanian Devil.

Dohnny was a kindhearted, gentle giant of a man with a heart of gold and was loved by all who knew him. He grew up in the Charlotte area, where he attended school. After high school, he worked at PPG Auto Paint store for years and gained knowledge of custom paints and bodywork for autos. He loved fast cars, such as Nissan, and he would spend months customizing his creations, whether it was his cars, motorcycles, or sound systems. Dohnny obtained an Associates Degree in Computer Sciences and Photography from UACCB.  His degree led him into computer and television repair, but he was also an avid photographer.

After college, Dohnny obtained his CDL and became a long haul truck driver for some years before settling back home to a job with the Independence County Road Department, while also working part-time at O’Reiley’s Auto Store. Dohnny was a genuine Mr. Fix it and Jack of all trades, loved car shows, road trips, playing pool, cards, video games, and most of all spending time with his family and friends.

Two years ago, Dohnny met the love of his life, Amanda Nicole Williams, and the two were married on July 25, 2020, at their home in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by a large host of family and friends.

Dohnny was a beloved husband, stepfather, son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, and friend who left this world too soon and will be missed greatly. His legacy of kindness, gentle nature and helpfulness to others will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

Dohnny was preceded in death by his father, James Holley; great-grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Malcom Hix Sr.; grandparents, Thomas and Maxine Holley, and James “Bud” Butler and Grace Butler; aunt, Barbara Lewis; and cousin, James Robert Butler III.

Dohnny is survived by his loving wife, Amanda Holley of the home; stepdaughter, Madalyn Rose Holder; stepson, Daniel Dawson Holder, also of the home; mother, Betty Taylor of Batesville; brother, Johnny Darrell Butler (Mandy) of Rosie; great uncle, Malcom Hix Jr. of Batesville; father-in-law, Tim Williams of Rosie; mother-in-law, Marilyn Fortner, of Thida; uncle James Robert Butler Jr. of Batesville; aunt Mary Butler, of Batesville; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
