Jacquelyn (Jackie) Viola Earls passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2020. She was born on September 16, 1945, to Anne V. Osborne.
She was a dedicated member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, where she previously served on The Board of Trustees, The Steward Board, The Women’s Missionary Society, and as a Sunday School Superintendent. She also served in various roles and functions as needed.
Jackie graduated from Miller High School in Batesville and received her Bachelor of Social Work from Arkansas State University. Her employment included White-Rodgers, Eastman-Kodak and as a Social Worker for the state.
Jackie is survived by two daughters, Bridgette Cothrine (Keith) of Conway, and Amanda Milton (Steve) of Jonesboro; two sons, William Ben Earls Jr. (Lisa) of Batesville, and Brian Earls (Charity) of Memphis, Tenn.; three sisters, Cynthia Holt of Plano, Texas, LouAnne George of Batesville, and Louise Jacobs of Plano, Texas; three brothers, Ralph Grant of Batesville, Charles Grant of Jacksonville, and Michael Grant (Regina) of Prince William, Va.; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; special friend, Earnest Vance and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother; grandparents Bly and Viola Lexion Osborne, and one brother Timothy Osborne.
Funeral services will be Saturday, September 5, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. at the Bethel A.M.E Church located at 889 Oak Street in Batesville. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.
COVID-19 mandates will be followed which include social distancing and the use of masks.
No public visitation will be held.
