Jimmy Larry Ivie Sr. of Newport departed this life on Friday, September 4, 2020, at the age of 77. He was born on February 28, 1943, in Newport. Jimmy was a gentle, kind and loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle.
He was the owner and operator of Central Arkansas Glass in Little Rock Arkansas. His hobbies included: Sponsoring stock car racing, going to flea markets and auctions, racing go-carts, and enjoyed collecting anything and everything. He was of Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Junior C. Ivie and Lucile (Bradley), an infant daughter, Samantha Ivie and sister-in-law Gloria Jean (Hawkins) Ivie.
He is survived by his wife, Loria (Camp) Ivie. One son Jimmy Larry Ivie Jr. and wife Lynn of Clinton, MO. One brother, Donny Ray Ivie of Newport. Three grandchildren, Ambur Gill of Cranston, RI; Cody Ivie of Clinton, MO and Clay Ivie of Tuscon, AZ. Three great-grandchildren, Gracie Gill, Michael Martin and Mia Martin of Cranston, RI. One niece, Heather Nicole (Ivie) Swan wife of Zachary Swan of Newport. Two nephews; Heath Ashley Ivie Husband of Angela Ivie of San Diego, CA and Christopher Delance Ivie Husband of Carolyn Ivie of Tuckerman. Eight great-nieces and nephews; many other family and friends.
Friends may visit the funeral home on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, from 1:30 p.m. -2:30 p.m. Graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m. at Balch-Johnston Cemetery with Bro. Billy Ed Morris and Mr. David Howard officiating.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Dickey Reid, Jackie Kieffer, Wayne Davis, Kenny Davis, Larry Jordan, and Jerry Knopp. Honorary pallbearers are his nieces and nephews.
