The Melbourne Bearkatz continued their winning ways Friday night, scoring early and often on their way to a 48-12 win over the Cave City Cavemen.

It was the defense once again that set the tone in the first half, stifling an otherwise high scoring Cave City offense and holding them scoreless in the first half.

A 13-yard run by Riley Gray and a 16-yard pass from Trey Wren to Malachi Cruz provided the Katz with their two first-half scores.

The third quarter proved interesting as both teams traded blows with Cave City getting within one score multiple times.

The Katz defense answered the call to begin the fourth, and the offense answered with four touchdowns in the period, invoking the sportsmanship rule.

Ryan Worsham led the way in the rushing game with 125 yards on nine carries, including two long touchdown carries.

The Katz move to 3-0 on the year and return home to face England next week.
