Remonia Haney Dale Cowell, 89, of Salem was born on July 25, 1931, in Larkin, the middle child of Russell Haney and Opal Phipps. She passed away in the Baxter County Hospital on September 16, 2020.

She lived on the family farm on Guion Road for almost 50 years before moving to Salem in 2002 after her husband, Curtis, passed away. She spent some early married years traveling to Washington working in the orchards but then worked at Batesville Manufacturing and the Melbourne Shirt factory. She was an amazing seamstress; her tailoring skills rivaled the very best and her quilts will be cherished by her family forever. She loved her flowers; her yard was a delight for all who wanted to tour. She was a member of and worshipped at the Salem Church of Christ.

She is survived by her son, Danny (Sandra) of Texarkana and daughter, Rebecca (Jim) Short of Salem; four grandchildren, Dr. Jessica Short, Matt (Dr. Kristin) Short, Bradley Dale and Kyle Dale; three great-grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Dale; her second husband, Chuck Cowell, to whom she was married to after moving to Salem; her sister, Madge Cooper; and brother, Kenneth Haney.

Graveside services will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2020, at Melbourne Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville with David Gibson officiating.
