Mountain View Yellowjackets victorious on Friday night over the Quitman Bulldogs, 32-13

The Mountain View Yellowjackets offense piled up 519 yards of total offense, and the defense forced five turnovers as the Yellowjackets rolled to a 32-13 victory over the Quitman Bulldogs in a non-conference game Friday night at Quitman High School.

Following a fumble recovery by Sophomore Jace Tinkle, Mountain View scored on their first offensive possession of the game when Senior J’Air Jackson faked a punt on fourth down and ran for a 69-yard touchdown to give Mountain View an early 6-0 lead.

Junior Elijah Carlton scored on a four-yard touchdown as the first quarter came to an end to give the Yellowjackets at 12-0 lead after one-quarter of play.

The longest play of the night came in the second quarter on a 94-yard touchdown pass from Joseph Rentz to Jackson to give Mountain View a commanding 20-0 lead.

Jackson and Junior C.J. Rose would each add rushing touchdowns in the second half to finish Mountain View’s impressive offensive night.

Defensively for Mountain View Sophomore Landon Goins led the way with 15 tackles including one sack, and Trampas Stubbs had two interceptions as Mountain View improved to 3-1 on the season, while Quitman drops to 1-2.
