The Cedar Ridge School Board has named Tracey Owens as the high school’s new principal, the district announced in a Monday afternoon release.

Owens started her duties as principal last Wednesday, after Superintendent Dr. Sherry McMasters recommended her for the job at last Tuesday’s board meeting.

Owens started at Cedar Ridge in 2012 as the district’s math facilitator and has served as the curriculum director for the past two years.

Owens lives in Newark with her husband, Adam, and daughter Addison.
