Obituary: Kelley Durane Walters

Kelley Durane Walters,56, of Sulphur Rock, departed this life on Monday, Sept. 21, 2020. He was born in Jonesboro on Jan. 29, 1964, to Kelley Douglas Walters and Annetta Kersey Sharp.

Kelley worked in construction throughout his lifetime.  He was a “cut-up” who enjoyed making people laugh. He was also known for his storytelling and loved numbers.

Kelley was an avid hunter and loved his family very much especially his grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Tina, of the home;  son, Kelley Thomas Walters, and wife Rachel, of Jonesboro; daughters, Allison Paige Stevens and husband, Brandon, of Ward, and Tabitha Watkins of Paragould;  brothers, Kelley “DJ’ Walters and Donnie Walters, both of Trumann; sisters, Debra Walker, of St. Louis, Missouri, Angee Jones, and husband, Craig, of Walnut Ridge, Seani Gibson, and husband, David, of Ash Flat, and Kelly Boyles and husband Ricky, of Trumann; grandchildren, K. J., Avery, and Benjamin. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and family.

A Funeral Service will be Saturday, Sept. 26, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of First Church, 240 White Drive, in Batesville, with Bro. Michael Parmley officiating.

A Visitation Service will be Friday, Sept. 25, 2020, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the church.

Interment will be Saturday, Sept. 26, 2020, at 3:00 p.m. in Garden Point Cemetery in Etowah, Arkansas with Robert May, Kelly Kueneman, Robert Smith, Andy Shrout, Rickey Toliver, and Jerry Ellis serving as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Stevens, John Green, Corey Carr, Mark Walters, and Johnny McClaughlin.

We are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health for COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions in practicing social distancing, requiring facial coverings, and limiting indoor attendance.
