A U.S. Army combat veteran from Forrest City who has been running across Arkansas since March made his way through Batesville Thursday morning.
Nate Thomas, who posts his adventures on his Facebook page as Mount Sinai and is also known as the Arkansas Running Man, started his journey running through the state with a large American flag as the pandemic started to spread through the U.S. Thomas has said he is doing it to encourage Arkansans during these difficult times.
Thomas, who also made recent runs through Cave City and Strawberry, has spread his message through runs in cities and towns such as Little Rock, Hot Springs, Mountain View, Texarkana, Fayetteville, Pine Bluff, and numerous other locations in Arkansas.
Thursday morning, he made a stop at the Sonic Drive-In location on Harrison Street, ran by the White River Now studios on Harrison, and posed for a picture on Main Street at Sweeney’s Men’s Grooming.
Thomas is scheduled to finish his trek on Oct. 10 in Forrest City.
