Obituary: James Jonathan Acosta

James Jonathan Acosta, 55, of Batesville, departed this life on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2020.  He was born on Sept. 4, 1965, to Richard Acosta and Maria Semona Garibay Bynum in Artesia, California.

During his working years, James was a mixer for the Flowers Baking Company in Batesville.

He was an avid bowler and bowled at the Hollywood Bowl in Batesville.

He loved 80’s music especially Frankie Valli and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.  James also enjoyed his Pac Man Machine.

He adored his grandchildren and a highlight to both he and they were shooting fireworks.

James is survived by his daughters, Ashley Acosta, of Batesville, Brenda Acosta, of Conway; sons, Jonathan Acosta, and wife, Ariale, of Batesville, Anthony Acosta and wife, Azel, of Maumelle; his father, Richard Acosta of Maumelle; a brother, Tim Acosta, of Little Rock; sisters, Kim Wann of Batesville, Ramona Acosta of Mission Viejo, California, step-father, Larry Bynum;  and five grandchildren, Hayden, Melody, Gabby, Callie, and Eli.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Kim, and mother, Maria Bynum.

A Memorial Service will be Thursday, Oct. 8, 2020, at 4:00 p.m. at the Doty Southside Funeral Chapel, 2180 Batesville Blvd., Southside.
