Obituary: Mylus Dwayne Jones

Mylus Dwayne Jones, 85 of Batesville died Friday, Oct. 2, 2020.

He was born Dec. 28, 1934, in Cushman, Arkansas to Raymond L. and Faye Mallett Jones.  He was a retired salesman for Kimball Midwest, a U.S. Army Veteran, and a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Batesville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Gracie Jones; two sons, Gary Jones, and Mike Jones; seven brothers, J.H. Jones, Emil Jones, Hollis Jones, R.L. Jones, Aubrey Jones, Ronald Jones and Fred Jones and three sisters, Aleatha Story, Jaqueta Smith, and Nelda Criman.

Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Swaim Jones of the home; one son, Frank Jones (Barbara) of Batesville; five grandchildren, Ronnie Jones (Tanya) of Batesville, Heather Stauffer (Jeremy) of Cave City, Angie Wetzel (Chuck), and Valerie Wheeley (Kenneth) both of Melbourne and Tony Jones of Batesville; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson and host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Batesville with Bro. Bobby Shepherd officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery near Cushman with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Chris Jones, Terry Brooks, Terry Swaim, Lonnie Shrum, Jerry Osborne, and Joe Keller.

Honorary pallbearers are Tony Brooks, John Clemons, Bill Mallett, and Danny Jones.
