Independence County Library holding free showing of ‘Poltergeist’


The Independence County Library will be holding a free showing of the 1982 horror classic, “Poltergeist,” just in time for Halloween.

The Steven Spielberg-produced, PG-rated movie will be shown at 8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 23, in the Citizens Bank Pocket Park on Main Street in Batesville.

Social distancing will be observed, and masks will be required for admittance but may be removed once seated. Temperatures and contact info will be taken at the entrance.

The library encourages attendees to bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating, and beverages will be served for free.
