Evelyn Doyle Stackhouse of Newport, Arkansas departed this life on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2020, at the age of 79.
She was born May 22, 1941, in Newport, Arkansas the daughter of Ealem Andrew “Andy” Doyle and Lena Estelle (Page) Doyle.
Mrs. Stackhouse was a court reporter for Circuit Judge Harold Erwin, from 1986 to 2004.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church and enjoyed her ladies Sunday School class. Mrs. Stackhouse enjoyed working crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She was an avid fan of Arkansas Razorback sports.
Stackhouse’s greatest love in life was her family and she especially delighted in her grandchildren. She will be forever remembered for her great love of family and missed forever by her family and friends.
Stackhouse was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Doil “Stack” Stackhouse, and brother, Bobby Gene Doyle.
She is survived by two daughters, Lena Stackhouse Gibson and husband, Jerry, of Newport and Donna Stackhouse Simmons and husband, Roger, all of Newport; one sister, Elwanda White, of Marion, Arkansas; three grandchildren, R.J. Simmons and wife, Stephanie, Katelyn Simmons, and Ethan Simmons; two great-grandchildren, Mason Simmons and McKinley Simmons.
Graveside services are 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Watson Cemetery, with Judge Harold Erwin officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home Monday, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
