gavel-2020-16

Three drug-related cases are scheduled for Izard County Circuit court later this month.

Two of those cases are involving incidents that occurred recently, the other dates back to Aug. 13, 2020.

In that case, Izard County Sheriff’s Deputy Sean Tomlinson made a traffic stop on that date, and in the process, found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, according to authorities.

Chief Deputy Sheriff Charley Melton said a warrant regarding that case was issued for Christy Parker, 47, of Calico Rock, citing three felony counts: possession of a controlled substance, namely meth, and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Parker was arrested on the charges Oct. 9 with a bond set at $30,000.

In another of the cases, a resident of West Plains, Mo., Dawn Hodges, 37, was transported from Missouri to Izard County on Oct. 6 on a warrant for failure to appear on her original charges: possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

In the third case, an Arkansas State Trooper found meth and drug paraphernalia while making a traffic stop in Calico Rock on Oct. 7, according to authorities.

Amanda Hatfield, 32, of Calico Rock, was charged with those two felonies. Hatfield’s bond was set at $10,000 along with an appearance in circuit court.

All three are scheduled for their appearances in Izard County Circuit Court on Oct. 28.
