Carl Walter Johnson, 81 of Cave City died Thursday, Oct. 15, 2020. He was born Feb. 25, 1939, in Emery, Arkansas to Claude and Lee Johnson.
He worked several years as a supervisor at GenCorp Automotive in Batesville and served 11 years as Mayor of Cave City.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran, was the first president of the Cave City Jaycees, and was a member of the Maxville Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Billy Joe Johnson; two sisters, Mauvaline Osborne and Wanda Jean Garrison; one grandson, Johnny Lane Taylor, and a nephew, Carl Wade Osborne.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Cathryn Johnson of the home; one son, Jon Johnson of Newark; one daughter, Claudette Jones (David) of Charlotte; one brother, Paul Wayne Johnson (Liz) of Cave City; seven grandchildren, Robbie Parks, Ryan Parks, Tanner Johnson, Meghan Davis, Maddison Johnson, Marissa Ray, and Aaliyah Travis; three great-grandchildren, Gabe Kizer, Dax Mesa, and Gracelynn Valdez; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Sunday, Oct. 18, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at the Maxville Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Phillip Lewallen officiating. Burial will follow in the Cave City Cemetery with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.
Pallbearers will be Jon Johnson, Tanner Johnson, Robbie Parks, Ryan Parks, Ronald Weaver, and Scotty Kuykendall.
Honorary pallbearers are Lane Parks, David Jones, Ron Jones, Morris Stewart, and Employees of the City of Cave City.
