Obituary: Coy Chinn Jr.

Coy Aron Chinn Jr., 78, of Magness passed away Thursday, Oct. 8, 2020.

He was born Sept. 21, 1942, in Magness, Arkansas to Coy Aron Chinn Sr. and Ina Jane (Parker) Chinn Branscum.

Coy was a strong-willed, God-fearing family man; he was a real people person and never met a stranger. He was a Veteran of the United States Army; he worked at American Lantern and Brown Jordan for several years. He liked to hunt and fish; enjoyed tinkering on lawnmowers and visiting with friends over coffee.

Survivors include his daughter, Rhonda Wood (Greg) of Charlotte; two grandchildren, Hunter Chinn-Wood and Madison Wood Hutchison; five great-grandchildren, Riley Jane Burba, Andrew Robertson, Aaron Hutchison, Lilith Payton, and Braxton Payton; one aunt, Wilma Parker; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bertha Chinn; son, Christopher Chinn; step-father, Glenn Branscum; two brothers, William Chinn and Jerry Chinn; and aunt, Gracie Parker.

Graveside services were Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020, at Sulphur Rock Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville with Brian Combee officiating.

Visitation was held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2020, at the funeral home.
