Mountain View Water Department issues boil water order

The Mountain View Water Department has issued a precautionary boil water order due to a break in the main.

Department Manager Keith Johnson said the areas affected start from 2.5 miles south of Main Street on South Bayou Drive to Highway 5 South.

The order also includes the service from Main Street south on Highway 5 for 2.9 miles. In addition, the order includes all roads connected to these roads.

Johnson said if you live in these areas and have Mountain View water service, to boil water briskly for one minute before using.

Johnson said this is a precautionary boil order and is in effect until further notice.
