Steven Lindsey Rucker, 49, of Newport, departed this life on Thursday, October 15, 2020, in Newport. He was born on November 23, 1970, in Newport, the son of James Lindsey and Searcy Lee (Ford) Balentine. Steven was always a blessing to other people, he enjoyed sports, cooking, fishing, hunting, dancing, telling jokes and being around family. He was a Jack of all trades.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, one sister Patricia Moore and one son, Steven Arnold.
He leaves behind his sons Dallas Joe Charles Neal, Enitial Javon Rucker of Vilonia, Cristian Jamal Rucker, Malik Antonio Rucker of Newport, his daughters Shannon Latriece Neal Williams (Vaughn) of Woolbridge, VA. and Jessica Rochelle Rucker of Newport. brothers Jerry Rucker (Shirley), Renard Rucker of Minnesota, James Rucker (Jackie), Jacob Rucker and all from Newport, Kevin Rucker of St. Louis MO., Therry Rucker of Amarillo TX., Charles Ford (Maria) of Amarillo TX., Antonio Lindsey of Jonesboro, sisters Diane Rucker of Newport, Angela Neghash (Muhammad) of Minnesota, Carnice Lindsey of Jonesboro, Vonzelle Lindsey of Texas, Antoinette Lindsey of Memphis, and six grandchildren, Jeremiah Williams, Ja’Kalen Rucker, Mariah Moore, Essianna Williams, Violet Williams, Eniylah Rucker, and Shaniya Ellis.
Visitation will be Friday, October 23, 2020, at Dillinger Funeral Home, Newport from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 24, 2020, at the Newport Legendary Greyhound Field beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Gum Grove Cemetary.
