LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Two more Arkansas lawmakers have tested positive for the coronavirus. State Sen. Missy Irvin of Mountain View announced on her Twitter page Wednesday that she had tested positive and was at home recovering.
State Rep. Joe Cloud who serves part of Pope County (Russellville) also confirmed that he had tested positive for the virus.
Legislative leaders announced Tuesday that three other lawmakers — including State Rep. Stu Smith of Batesville and State Rep. Michelle Gray of Melbourne — had tested positive for the virus and suspended budget hearings for this week.
Gov. Asa Hutchinson has also limited his public appearances after being exposed to someone with the virus, though he said he has since tested negative twice. Arkansas has had more than 100,000 probable and confirmed coronavirus cases.
Well, make that 4! My Antigen test was negative on Sunday; however, I received positive PCR results from Sunday this morning. I am at home recovering. Praying for my colleagues and everyone who is suffering with this virus. #COVID19 Thank you all for your prayers for me. https://t.co/vqm4o6TiPh
