Batesville Pioneers improve to 5-3 Friday night, defeating the Brookland Bearcats, 34-7

The Batesville Pioneers improved to 5-3 on the season and 4-1 in the 5A East with a 34-7 victory over the Brookland Bearcats.

The Pioneers got on the board in the first quarter on a 14-yard touchdown pass from Eli Livingston to John Todd Stalker.  The only other points in the first half came on a 23-yard field goal from Alejandro Medina in the second quarter for a 10-0 Pioneer halftime lead.
The Pioneers started the third quarter with a bang as Jace Daugherty took the third-quarter kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown and Medina’s extra point made the score 17-0.
Medina would also connect on a 24-yard field goal in the third quarter to make the score 20-0.
The Pioneers added a one-yard touchdown run from Jarrett Vickers and a 30-yard touchdown run from Taylor Daugherty in the fourth quarter to set the final margin.
The Pioneers travel to Paragould next Friday to take on the Greene County Tech Golden Eagles in another crucial 5A East matchup.
