Virgie Lee (Hackney) Honey of Newport, Arkansas, departed this life on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2020, at the age of 95. She was born April 8, 1925, in Hooks, Texas, the daughter of Samuel and Cora Lee (Richards) Hackney.
Honey enjoyed cooking, sewing, and gardening. Her joy in life came from working in her flower beds and keeping her yard beautiful. She left nothing out of place.
Honey loved spending time with her family during the holiday season.
She was preceded in death by one son, David Honey; one granddaughter, Krystal Buford Worthington; two brothers, James and Alta Ray Hackney; two sisters, Geraldine Campbell and Ruth Howard; and her parents.
Honey is survived by five daughters, Brenda Henard and husband, Randy, of West Fork, Arkansas, Bobbie Thatcher and husband, Ronnie, of Amagon, Kathy Honey Buford of Newport, Gail Snyder, and husband, Terry, of Newport, and Beverly Tharp of Newport; seven grandchildren, Tracy Webb of Amagon, Jason Thatcher and wife, Cheryl, of Tuckerman, Sean Buford, and wife, Tonya, of Newport, Chad Henard, and wife, Lace of Wichita, Kansas, Jerry Tharp and wife, Brittney, of Jonesboro, Rachel Whisenhunt and husband, Kyle, of Newport, and Jessica Tippitt and husband, Skyler of Camden; one sister, Barbara Potter of Newport; many great and great-great-grandchildren.
