Obituary: Charles Robert Hunt

Charles Hunt, 89, of Southside, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2020.

He was born on Aug. 19, 1931, in South Haven, Michigan to Leo Hunt and Ethel Quick Hunt.

Charles was retired as a wood finisher for a piano manufacturing company, after working there for almost 30 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, loved old cars such as Model A’s and Model T’s, enjoyed woodworking, making birdhouses, and other crafts, always giving them away to friends and family. He loved his Folger’s coffee, and worked at Wade’s Heating and Cooling the past several years.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Evelyn Hester Hunt; a daughter, Debra Petta (Nick) of St. Charles, Illinois; a son, Stephen Hunt (Vicki) of South Haven, Michigan; two brothers, Donald Hunt and Allen Hunt, both of South Haven, Michigan; three sisters, Dorothy Rithmel of Holland, Michigan, Lucella Wolf of Florida, and Carolyn Pettis of South Haven, Michigan; four grandchildren, Jennifer Siwek, Brendan Schlaack, Garrett Hunt, and Molly Hunt; four great-grandchildren, Natalie Siwek, Amanda Siwek, Bryce Schlaack, and Isabella Schlaack; and several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Cecil Hunt; and a sister, Barbara Ridley.

Memorial services will be Monday, Nov. 2, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at the Allen Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, with Bro. Tim Landers officiating, under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville.

Memorials can be made in honor of Charles, to the Humane Society of Independence County, 5 Environmental Drive, Batesville, AR 72501.
