Obituary: Edyth Johnson McCracken

Edyth Johnson McCracken, 98, of Mt. Pleasant, Arkansas passed away Thursday, Oct. 29, 2020.

She was born on Sept. 5, 1922, in Lafferty, Arkansas to James Franklin Johnson and Allie Hall Johnson Broyles.

Early in life, she worked as a supervisor in an electronics assembly plant in California and was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist church.

She is survived by her son, James McCracken and his wife Deborah of Palm Desert, California, one granddaughter, Fawn Hettick and her husband Jeff, and four great-grandchildren, Jared, Marina, and Travis Hettick and his companion, Katie Gonzales, and Danielle McCracken: one great-great-grandson, Nolan Chase Hettick; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walter McCracken, two sons, Wayne and John Thomas McCracken, a grandson, Michael Wayne McCracken, eight brothers, Bob Johnson, Clemon Johnson, Morris Johnson, Alfred Johnson, Fay (Pid) Johnson, Burton Johnson, Jack Sammy Johnson, and Odell Jabe Johnson; four sisters, Susie Weaver, Martha Jones, Mary (Mozell) Needham, and Ruby Moser.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, November 3, at 2:00 p.m., at the Reeves Pine Grove cemetery near Guion, with Bruce Qualls officiating.

Pallbearers will be Gilbert McCracken, BB Johnson, Dewayne Johnson, Conny Johnson, Paul Weaver, and Mark Herrington.

Honorary Pallbearers are James Thomas Johnson and Delmus Johnson.

We are complying with the Arkansas Department of Health guidelines. All attendees must provide and wear their own masks and social distancing will be observed.
