James B. Bumpous, 87 of Batesville, passed from this walk of life on Oct. 29, 2020.
He was born in Oil Trough on Nov. 10, 1932, to Edgar and Dollie House Bumpous.
During his working years, James was a heavy equipment operator. As a hobby, he enjoyed collecting knives.
James is survived by his two daughters, Cathy (Niem) Nguyen, of Southside, Donna (Rocky) McIntosh, of Batesville; a son, Pete Bumpous of Southside; two brothers, Eugene Bumpous of Pleasant Plains, Troy Bumpous of Thida; two sisters, Gertie Maples of Thida, Lorene Foster of Batesville; eight grandchildren, Kevin Nguyen, Angel Rawlings, Jason Collins, Amy Taylor, Cody Bumpous, Maeghan Worley, Seth Hyde, Michael Hightower; six great-grandchildren, Kristen Thomas, Caitlin Collins, Khaelar Worley, Khottan Worley, Christian Hightower, Liam Nguyen, Colin Nguyen, Declan Rawlings; and two great-great-grandchildren, Eden Thomas and Theo Thomas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Faye Bumpous, parents, daughter, Sandra Hightower, two brothers, Vernon and Larry Bumpous, and three sisters, Opal Bumpous, Pauline Ball, and Earlene Harris.
No services are planned at this time.
