Breakdown of latest COVID-19 stats in local and state nursing homes/assisted living facilities

The Arkansas Department of Health released a list of nursing homes and assisted living facilities that have had a new or additional positive case for the coronavirus in the past 14 days.

Checking the nursing homes that operate in Batesville and Southside, there has been activity based on the list that the department released on Tuesday.

Mountain Meadows Health and Rehabilitation in Southside has had 11 residents test positive within the last two weeks, according to the list. The date of the most recent positive test returned on a resident was Oct. 27. The facility also had nine staff members test positive within the last 14 weeks, with the latest also on Oct. 27.

The Springs of Batesville, which is located on White Drive near the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville, has had 12 residents test positive within the last 14 days, with the most recent positive test confirmed on Oct. 29. There have been four staff members test positive within the past couple of weeks. The latest positive test was also confirmed on Oct. 29.

The Batesville nursing home, Wood-Lawn Heights, has not had a resident test positive, the list reported. The facility has had one staff member test positive within the last two weeks. That was on Oct. 26.

The department also noted that the total number of residents in such facilities across the state that have tested positive since the pandemic began is 5,001. The total number of health care workers/staff at such facilities that have tested positive is 3,593. The total number of residents that have died: 815. The total number of health care workers/staff that have expired: 3.
