Arden Von Perkey, 87, of Batesville passed away Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2020.
He was born on Sunday, Aug. 13, 1933, in Sidney, Ark. to Charles “Charlie” Albertis Perkey and Gertrude “Gertie” Alice Lassiter Perkey.
Von was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War. He was a member and Deacon of Calvary Baptist Church in Batesville. He was also a member of the Tri-County Tractor Club and retired from John Deere after over 30 years of dedicated service.
Survivors include his two sons, Vondale Wayne Perkey (Janet) of Cave City and Dennis Allan Perkey (Tracy) of Lincoln, Neb.; one daughter, Nancy Sue Craig of Jonesboro; four grandchildren, Candace Nicole Ozanich Stracener (Chuck) of Fayetteville, Miranda Rachelle Perkey Scott (R. Matthew) of Paducah, Ken., Aaron Taylor Perkey of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Alexa Wren Perkey of Lincoln, Nebraska; four great-grandchildren, Presley Kate Stracener, Harrison James Stracener, Hudson William Stracener — all of Fayetteville, and Griffin Matthew Scott of Paducah, Ken.; and four sisters, Glenn Perkey Davis of Pleasant Grove, Ark., Tommie Perkey Garlin of Batesville, Monnie Jo Perkey England of Cave City, and Alice Kay Perkey Milligan of Russellville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 61 years, Bertha June Treadway Perkey; son-in-law, Robert “Bobby” Craig; four brothers, Joel James Perkey, Paul Rease Perkey, Charles Veryl Perkey, and Billy Don Perkey; one sister, Clois Mozell Perkey Ray.
Pallbearers are Mickey Sharp, Rickie Sharp, Darrell Gilley, Dustin Treadway, Aaron Ross, and Hank England. Honorary pallbearers will be Aaron Perkey, Dr. J.D. Allen, and Dr. David Fielder.
Graveside services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2020, at Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville with Bro. Stefan Eubanks officiating.
