Here are some cases the Izard County Sheriff’s Department have worked over the past few days:

Michael Kelly (pictured above), 31, of Franklin, Ark., was stopped for speeding near Franklin on Nov. 5, and was found to be driving while intoxicated, according to the department. Chief Deputy Sheriff Charley Melton said Kelly was also found to be under the supervision of Arkansas Community Corrections for probation and parole.

Kelly’s vehicle was searched, and his troubles multiplied. The arresting officer, Deputy Brent Engles, conducted the search and found drug paraphernalia and a small bag containing a powdery substance that field-tested positive as heroin, the department said.

Kelly will have to appear in Izard County Circuit Court on Nov. 17 and answer to those two felony charges, which drew a $10,000 professional bond. However, he is also under a no-bond hold from probation and parole.

Two others facing Izard County charges are to appear in circuit court on Nov. 17.

Amber Smith, 31, of Mountain View, was arrested for bond violations. She also has a hold by probation and parole. She is being held with no bond for her Nov. 17 court appearance.

And, Darrell Massey, 37, of Batesville was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear in the Izard County Circuit Court on theft by deception charges. He too is being held with no bond for the Nov. 17 court appearance.
