The Lady Pioneers and Pioneers complete a clean sweep of the Heber Springs Panthers Tuesday night

The Lady Pioneers and Pioneers completed the clean sweep of the Heber Springs Panthers Tuesday night to start the 2020 season.

In the opening game of varsity action, the Lady Pioneers would put up points in bunches taking down the Lady Panthers 78-44.

Four Lady Pioneers would score in double digits led by the University of Missouri commit Izzy Higginbottom with 26 points.

Fellow Senior London Cuzzort would add 15 of her own points and Juniors Taylor Rush and Olivia Everetts would each chip in 12 points apiece.

Every member of the Lady Pioneer roster would see playing time throughout the 4 quarters.

To close the evening, the Pioneers would score early and often en-route to a 71-40 victory over the Panthers.

Putting up 26 points alone in the first quarter and building a 20 point advantage, the Pioneers would coast to a victory led by Senior John Paul Morgan with 19 points as he would rack up a double-double on the evening also accounting for 10 boards in just three-quarters of action.

Freshman Caden Griffin would add 11 points of his own as 10 Pioneers would account for points in the game.

Both teams return to action Thursday night as they take on the Mountain View Yellowjackets in Batesville.

The JV Senior Boys game will start at 5 p.m. followed by the Junior Boys before both varsity teams take to the court.
