Steve William Mitchell, better known as S.W., 78, of Mountain View, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020, at National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs Arkansas. S.W. was born on Feb. 23, 1942, to Walter and Nellie (Deatherage) Mitchell in Fifty-Six, Arkansas.
S.W. married the love of his life, Jeraldine Fletcher, on Sept. 16, 1959, at the edge of a Cotton Field near Monette, AR. From there they built an amazing life together for the next 61 years celebrating faith, family, friends, and fishing. And let’s not forget a good car deal.
In 1971 S.W. started Mitchell’s Used Cars and was in business for almost 50 years making many friends along the way. Late-night car auctions with friends were the norm. He always enjoyed the smiles and laughter that took place in the car lot office. You were guaranteed to find a good fishing story and a stick of spearmint gum in every conversation. S.W. was saved when he was 16 yrs. old. He lived his faith; you could see the Lord in everything he did.
S.W. was preceded in death by his parents Walter Mitchell and Nellie Deatherage Mitchell Conway, his stepfather Hubert Conway, brothers Hale, Slown, and Tommy Mitchell and Gary Conway, daughter Patricia Nishiuchi and son in law Roger Marshall.
S.W. is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 61 years Jeraldine (Fletcher) Mitchell. Two sons Rick Mitchell and wife Tina of Mountain View, David Mitchell, and wife Shelia of Fox.
