Sarah James, 88, of Mountain View, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2020, at UAMS in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Sarah was born on Oct. 25, 1932, in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Charles Murray and Vannie (Holmes) Leech.

Sarah was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, and the Order of the Eastern Star, having served as a Past Worthy Matron.

She volunteered at the Stone County Medical Center and was on the board of the Historic Cemetery of Mountain View.

Sarah earned her Master’s Degree in education and taught from 1964-1995; she taught both first and second grade in Memphis, Tennessee, and first grade in Mountain View, Arkansas.

Sarah was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all of her loving family and friends.

Sarah is survived by her beloved husband of 70 years, E.R. James; three daughters, Donna James of Mountain View, Arkansas, Theresa Eddy and husband David of Russellville, Arkansas, Jeanie Gosselin and husband Gary of Rockwall, Texas; five grandchildren, Erin Darwin, Tyler Gosselin, Doug Eddy, Keith Eddy, and Paul Eddy; eight great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Murray and Vannie (Holmes) Leech, and her sister, Martha McDonald.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah James will be private.

Pallbearers are David Eddy, Gary Gosselin, Doug Eddy, Paul Eddy, and Jason Darwin.

Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.
