Latest Health Department COVID-19 stats on area nursing homes released


The Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) has posted the latest statistics regarding COVID-19 cases in the state’s nursing homes, and some regional facilities are showing activity in the number of residents testing positive.

As of Nov. 23, one area nursing home, Cave City Nursing Home, had 27 resident positives reported in the past 14 days, according to the ADH stats. (There have been reports from other sources that as of Nov. 24, that number has now risen to 33.) Fourteen health care workers (HCW)/staff members have been reported positive in the past two weeks at the facility with the last noted on Nov. 21, according to the health department report.

An Ash Flat nursing home, Eaglecrest Nursing and Rehab, was reported as having 12 resident positive cases in the past 14 days with eight HCW/staff member positive cases — the most recent being reported on Nov. 20.

Pioneer Therapy and Living in Melbourne has had 17 resident positive cases in the past 14 days, with the last positive result on Nov. 9. Six HCW/staff members have tested positive within the two-week time period, with the last positive result recorded on Nov. 11, according to the ADH.

The ADH also reports Batesville’s Wood-Lawn Heights facility had one resident positive case in the last two weeks (reported on Nov. 19). Four HCW/staff members have also tested positive within the same time frame, with the latest being on Nov. 19.

Eagle Mountain Assisted Living, also in Batesville, is reported as having two HCW/staff members test positive in the past 14 days. The latest result was reported on Nov. 15.
